Summer was wearing a disguise on this day in the Sierras. Snow was clinging to the higher peaks, while the encircling lower slopes were cloaked in rich evergreens, punctuated by colorful rock formations. This scene was mirrored in the emerald-tinged water of the lake, imposed over a ghost image of the bottom, which could be seen through 20 feet of clear, cool liquid.
